How To Plant Formosa Azalea

The Formosa Azalea, while being a rugged variety and capable of handling full sun, can also manage a planting location in slight shade. This shrub does require well draining soil with some acidity. Another tip - the Azalea needs air circulation, so we recommend giving at least six feet of distance from any building. Don't forget to tend to your garden and make sure you are dealing with any pesky weeds that may appear, as to not compromise the roots or growth of your Formosa!

How To Water

We recommend watering your Formosa Azalea regularly, keeping the soil moist. When first planted, and for a short time after planting, it's best to water every day or so for the first three months until the plant is fully established.

How To Fertilize

To fertilize your Azalea we recommend using our Elements Starter Plant Food in early spring for best growing results.

How To Prune

Pruning may be done to correct shape and reduce size after the spring blossoms begin to fade. However, don't wait too much longer after the flowers fade as this may threaten the next seasons' ability to bloom!
