Sky Pencil is a cultivar of Japanese Hollies and has become quite popular with the public, so popular that Sky Pencil was Holly of the Year for 2004 through the Holly Society of America.

Sky Pencil Japanese Holly plants will tolerant many types of soil, but well-draining is essential. These plants thrive in both sun and some shade, give plants shelter from the winter winds as branches could burn when exposed to icy winter winds.

Water your Sky Pencil deeply a couple times a week for the first few months while your plant continues to become established. Once that has been completed, they will only need water during dry spells.
