Why plant Violette de Bordeaux Fig?

Figs, figs everywhere! You'll be harvesting figs nonstop with the wonderfully decadent Violette de Bordeaux Fig tree produces its signature two crops. That's right, Violette produces two crops of fine figs each year. Take up those cooking classes you've been interested in to put those figs to use and show off for your friends and family. You won't find a nicer fig tree than Violette as not only the fruits are able to be used in cooking, but the leaves as well. Wrap chicken or fish in the leaves when cooking to bring out the delectable coconut flavor housed in the leaves. This tree will not let you down or bore you with how useful it will be in your edible landscape. Save money on fresh produce and cooking wraps with the Violette de Bordeaux Fig tree.

Violette de Bordeaux Fig dates back to 16th century France where it was grown near Paris and enjoyed for it's two crops and delicious fruit. Sometimes referred to as Negronne, there was some debate over whether the two names were describing the same fig. Both trees were determined to be the same tree once Negronne was brought over to California years after Violette was already introduced into the landscape.
