Why plant Peve Minaret Dwarf Bald Cypress?
Too cute! Peve Minaret is a smaller version of our majestic native Bald Cypress Tree that’s bursting with personality. This quirky deciduous conifer grows arrow-straight, developing a fat trunk and lots of little lateral branches that point upwards, giving the tree a strong vertical presence in your garden. The branches are clothed in beautiful mint-green needles, but don’t think of these as the typical unfriendly, prickly conifer needles you would find on Spruce and Juniper—Peve Minaret Bald Cypress is as soft and huggable as a teddy bear. In late autumn, you’ll be treated to a show of radiant, coppery orange foliage before the needles drop for the winter.
Bald Cypress trees grow wild from Illinois to Delaware and south to Texas and Florida, but they are most common in the Deep South. There they often grow in swamps to avoid forest fires and can become massive trees with huge, buttressed trunks and “knees” that come up out of the water (Bald Cypress trees don’t get these on dry land). They are the longest-lived trees in the eastern U.S.; the oldest found was an incredible 1,800 years old! Peve Minaret was developed by a Dutch nurseryman named Pete Vergeldt in 1990. He cheated a little and treated some Bald Cypress seeds with special chemicals to get them to form mutant seedlings.
How to use Peve Minaret Dwarf Bald Cypress in the landscape?
Peve Minaret Bald Cypress is the kind of tree you want to design a whole landscape around. Create an island bed in your front yard where this unique specimen can play the starring role, or make a border for it near your outdoor entertaining space, and make Peve Minaret a focal point and conversation starter.

How To Plant Peve Minaret Dwarf Bald Cypress
Early reports on Peve Minaret Bald Cypress indicated that it would be a tiny, very slow-growing tree. While it is much smaller than a regular Baldcypress, it’s no miniature. An 11-inch plant at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina, grew to 20 feet in 10 years. Give Peve Minaret a site in full sun and provide regular water, especially during the first couple of years of establishment. This is a great tree for that troublesome part of your landscape that drains poorly, though it doesn’t require wet soil and will do just fine in average conditions.
How To Water
Water deeply, and regularly during first few years in the ground. Irrigate weekly, especially during prolonged dry spells or extreme heat after it’s established.
How To Fertilize
Incorporate Elements Starter Plant food granular form into the soil when planting. If planting in spring or summer, start fertilizing late fall using Elements Starter Plant food granular form on an annual basis each late fall. Continue this for the first three years to get your plant well established.
How To Prune
Due to the tight, compact structure of the Peve Minaret Bald Cypress, pruning is not required. However, if an errant branch occurs, it would be best to prune in late winter.

Shipping Delays:
From time to time, Bower & Branch Growers may determine to delay order shipment based on various factors for plant health. Weather in your region, as well as, where your plants are grown, is always considered when shipping. Extreme weather conditions may delay some or all of your order. Bower & Branch allows our Growers to make final shipping decisions based solely to benefit your trees and plants’ health and success.
How Does Sizing Work?
The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)
Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.
All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
