Why plant Knock Out® Blushing Rose?
So versatile! Blushing Rose Knock Out’s sweet, single, shell-pink flowers give this long-blooming rose a cottage-garden feel, but its tidy habit and clean foliage earn it a place in even the most formal of gardens. It’s just the thing to fill out a sunny foundation bed or add to the mixed borders around your home. A row of Blushing Knock Outs makes a fantastic low hedge, too! Busy homeowners will appreciate the fact that this low-maintenance Rose needs little pruning and no spraying, and gardeners in cold climates will value it for its hardiness. An easy choice!
When the first Knock Out Rose hit the market in 2000, the Rose world was changed forever. At last, there was a Rose that stayed clean and healthy all season—and it bloomed for months! This marvel was bred by William Radler, a hobbyist who hybridized Roses at his Greenfield, Wisconsin, home and raised the seedlings in his basement. Shortly after the original red-flowered Knock Out was released, this pale pink form was discovered as a chance mutation in a crop of Knock Outs at a Pennsylvania nursery. Blushing Knock Out has all the great attributes of the original, but in a softer color.
How to use Knock Out® Blushing Rose in the landscape?
Many traditional Roses need special protection to make it through the winter, and gardeners go to great lengths to wrap them in burlap or cover their crowns with soil. Blushing Knock Out is naturally hardy to 20 below zero, so it needs no coddling! In much of the country, it overwinters with ease.

Hardiness Zone: 5-11
How To Plant Knock Out® Blushing Rose
Plant your Blushing Knock Out Rose in full sun for the most abundant flowering. Provide regular water—about an inch per week of supplemental irrigation if no rain falls. Mulch with organic matter such as shredded bark, wood chips, or leaf mold to help keep the root zone cool and moist. Soil should drain freely, however, and not stay soggy. Knock Out Roses are incredibly resistant to black spot and other diseases that typically attack Roses. You should not need to spray them.
How To Water
Newly planted Roses should be watered every two or three days, once Roses become established water them once or twice a week as needed to keep the soil moist.
How To Fertilize
Feed your Roses twice a year in March/April before flowering to encourage bigger and colorful blooms.
How To Prune
Prune your roses in very early spring once you see signs of new growth emerging. You can cut your rose back by one half to two thirds of the total size of your plant. Expect your rose to almost triple in size in the coming months.
