Why plant Everillo Evercolor® Sedge?
Watch out for the Everillo Evercolor® Carex Sedge! It's loud, it's a big deal, and it's ready to brighten up your garden. With its loud, lime green foliage it can add drama to shady spots, a versatile easy ground cover, perfect for edging a path, or even sitting pretty in a window box! This plant stays colorful, bright, and vibrant all year-round so it'll surely give your garden a boost of life in the dead of winter! The Evercolor®Carex never loosens it shape! As it grows it widens giving more texture and dimension to your garden. When the Evercolor ages with direct sunlight, the once neon green colored foliage turns into a gorgeous golden color adding to its seasonal interest! While in the shade, the foliage will turn to a more chartreuse color.
Our Everillo Evercolor®Carex is so great it even won a Bronze Medal at Planetarium 2010 in Boskoop, Netherlands!
How to use Everillo Evercolor® Sedge in the landscape?
When incorporating the Evercolor® Carex Sedge into your landscape, not only are they perfect for in-ground planting but they also look stunning in containers or window-boxes. They compliment well with many other grass species or flowers! Be careful - they might just take away the spot light with their gorgeous greens! Our grass will be sure to add some texture to your garden! When growing, the growth is largely centered around the middle of the sedge so as the grass grows longer, more texture and dimension will be added. These grasses will look good edging out a whimsical path, decorating a backyard pond, or simply just filling out that extra space! Evercolor® Carex Sedges is a reliable staple you and your garden will thank!

How To Plant Everillo Evercolor® Sedge
Our Carex Sedge grasses are overall fairly low maintenance, but there's nothing wrong with showing your plant a little extra love. They are tolerant of moist to dry and do best in well-drained soil as they dislike being waterlogged. Good drainage is very important when it comes to your Sedge grasses. Carex grasses can be quite modest with the sun. Too much sun can cause sun damage so it is important to make sure your grass has a shot of relaxing in the shade.
How To Water
When it comes to watering, Sedge grasses aren't too picky! After their first planting they will be quite thirsty so watering regularly will be important during establishment. Once your plant has settled, you can move into a weekly watering schedule. Keep your grass evenly moist; may be moist-dry but not bone dry.
How To Fertilize
Incorporate Elements Starter Plant Food granular form into the soil when planting. If planting in spring or summer, start fertilizing late fall using Elements Starter Plant food granular form on an annual basis each late fall. If planting in the fall, use Elements fertilizer while planting and start your regular annual fertilizing the following fall. Continue this for the first three years to get your plant well established as it gives your tree the nutrients it needs to produce lush new growth for the following spring.
How To Prune
Sedge's hardly ever require pruning, if pruning is desperately needed; wait till the frost season. Grass will take a while to regrow anything that has been previously pruned.
