Why plant Little Devil™ Ninebark?
Birds, butterflies, and beautiful foliage! The Little Devil isn't as devious as its name would suggest. A favorite amongst our bird and pollinator friends, Little Devil is more of a wildlife angel than a devil. This shrub isn't just for the birds, you'll fall in love with the stunning foliage that remains red-purple all season long. A dwarf version of the native ninebark, Little Devil carries the torch for being wildlife-friendly and long-living like its larger counterpart. A great substitute for the burgundy barberries, you won't have to worry about Little Devil becoming invasive and not benefiting the environment. A well-groomed shrub, Little Devil brings great ornamental features as well as a clean, refreshing change to your landscape. Glossy red-purple foliage growing on red stems catch the eye immediately and that is all before the flowers begin! Summer brings with it small white flowers that cluster together to create a butterfly paradise full of sweet nectar. Great for cut flowers, which in turn become decorative red seed pods pop up in the fall. Birds will flock to Little Devil in fall and winter to grab a few of the tasty seed pods.
