Why plant Orange Carpet® Hummingbird's Trumpet?
Orange Carpet® Hummingbird's Trumpet is one super showy plant that comes from the Southwestern U.S. This magical looking ground cover blooms in early fall, showing off its tall stems of bright orangey-red flowers that are shaped like smaller trumpets. Each flower specializes in attracting butterflies and other pollinators. Your garden can easily turn into a butterfly garden just by adding this plant—there will be views for days!
This beautifully colored perennial is a selection that was made from seed collected in the great state of Idaho.
How to use Orange Carpet® Hummingbird's Trumpet in the landscape?
The Orange Carpet® is one of the best groundcover plants, I mean did you see the name? It's called Orange Carpet® for a reason! Use them as filler plants in your gardens to use up the space you don't know what to do with. Plant them in those awkward places like slanted hills. Use them along fence posts as they will climb up and grow along them!

How To Plant Orange Carpet® Hummingbird's Trumpet
It is best to plant the Orange Carpet® in the spring or early fall, preferably in well-draining soil types. They love to be in positions where they can reach full sun with some access to part shade.
How To Water
Water your trumpet vine with a moderate amount of water in the beginning stages of the growing season. Once they have become established, they will have significant drought tolerance. Once establishment comes, then you can alter your watering regiment. You will only need to water when your plant gives you obvious signs of wilt and withering. In climates where rainfall can be expected, rainfall should be able to do the job of sufficiently watering the plants.
How To Fertilize
Since trumpet vine are natural spreaders, they will be able to thrive without fertilization. If you decide to feed your trumpet plant, we recommend feeding at least once a year in the spring, with our Elements Starter Plant Food in granular form.
How To Prune
When pruning your Orange Carpet® you'll want to remove old stems in the early spring before new growth begins to make its entrance.
