Why Plant Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood?
Like a giant Rose bush in tree form! When spring slips into summer, Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood opens its masses of precious pink flowers. They look like Wild Rose blossoms (with four petals instead of five). No thorns on this baby, though—just strong, smooth branches clothed in lush green foliage. In fall, the leaves turn a rich red color with hints of orange, making another fine show in your garden. Another cool attribute of Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood is its round, red, strawberry-sized fruits. They hang like ornaments from the branches in early fall. If you split one open, you can sample the pulp inside. It’s sweet and tasty!
American Flowering Dogwoods are well-known and well-loved, and in most parts of the eastern U.S., they are a common sight. Less familiar in gardens are the also very beautiful Chinese Dogwoods, a.k.a. Kousa Dogwoods. These usually bloom in white. Even less common are the pink-flowering Chinese Dogwoods, and of those, Radiant Rose™ is among the finest. It has proved to be more cold-hardy than the older leading variety, Satomi, and its color is a more consistent, rich pink. (Note that flower color may be lighter on young trees.) Radiant Rose™ is an exciting selection that was discovered in a nursery in Boring, Oregon.
How to use Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood in the landscape?
Use Radiant Rose™ as a stunning standalone specimen, or incorporate it into a strategically placed mixed border to provide privacy while you relax in your yard or on your patio.

How To Plant Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood
Plant Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood in an area of your yard that receives full sun or light shade. It’s not too fussy about soils, but prefers an acid soil and needs good drainage. Unlike many Flowering Dogwood trees, the Chinese Kousa Dogwood is highly resistant to disease—most importantly, the dreaded anthracnose that has threatened so many of our native Dogwoods—so you can rest easy with Radiant Rose™.
How To Water
Immediately upon planting, water your tree deeply and thoroughly to encourage the roots to work their way into the existing soil. Water your tree every four to five days - Dogwoods like to dry down a bit before another watering.
How To Fertilize
Fertilize your Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood while planting with the Bower & Branch Elements Plant Food. Continue to fertilize your tree each spring to be sure your tree has all it needs to establish itself well.
How To Prune
The best time to prune your Radiant Rose™ Chinese Dogwood is while the tree is dormant in late winter. Prune to remove any damaged or dead branching, as well as to shape the tree overall.

Shipping Delays:
From time to time, Bower & Branch Growers may determine to delay order shipment based on various factors for plant health. Weather in your region, as well as, where your plants are grown, is always considered when shipping. Extreme weather conditions may delay some or all of your order. Bower & Branch allows our Growers to make final shipping decisions based solely to benefit your trees and plants’ health and success.
How Does Sizing Work?
The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)
Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.
All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
