Why plant Knock Out® Pink Double Rose?
If you love Roses (and who doesn’t?), but assume they’re too labor-intensive to bother with (and many of them are), then listen up: Pink Double Knock Out Rose will change your mind completely! This low-maintenance shrub Rose needs no spraying, deadheading, or special winter protection to remain healthy and productive. All summer long and well into fall (until frost), it will delight you with a parade of mid-pink blossoms against a background of clean, satiny green leaves. Pink Double Knock Out is cold-hardy to 20 below zero, too, needing no mounding or wrapping to get through harsh winters. It’s revolutionary!
When the first Knock Out Rose hit the market in 2000, the Rose world was changed forever. At last, there was a Rose that stayed clean and healthy all season—and it bloomed for months! This marvel was bred by William Radler, a hobbyist who hybridized Roses at his Greenfield, Wisconsin, home and raised the seedlings in his basement. Radler went on to breed several other varieties of Knock Out Roses, including the Double Red Knock Out, released in 2004. A short time later, a pink version was discovered in a batch of Double Reds at a Connecticut nursery, and Pink Double Knock Out was born.
How to use Knock Out® Pink Double Rose in the landscape?
Pink Double Knock Out is naturally more compact than the original single-flowered Knock Out Rose. It maintains its tidy habit with little or no pruning. Use it as an easy-care option in the formal beds and borders surrounding your home.

How To Plant Knock Out® Pink Double Rose
Plant your Pink Double Knock Out Rose in full sun for the most abundant flowering. Provide regular water—about an inch per week of supplemental irrigation if no rain falls. Mulch with organic matter such as shredded bark, wood chips, or leaf mold to help keep the root zone cool and moist. Soil should drain freely, however, and not stay soggy. Knock Out Roses are incredibly resistant to black spot and other diseases that typically attack Roses. You should not need to spray them. You may prune Pink Double Knock Out lightly at any time if you feel the need. A harder annual pruning in early spring will encourage fresh new growth.
How To Water
Newly planted Roses should be watered every two or three days, once Roses become established water them once or twice a week as needed to keep the soil moist.
How To Fertilize
Feed your Roses twice a year in March/April before flowering to encourage bigger and colorful blooms.
How To Prune
Prune your roses in very early spring once you see signs of new growth emerging. You can cut your rose back by one half to two thirds of the total size of your plant. Expect your rose to almost triple in size in the coming months.
