Why plant Confetti™ Panicle Hydrangea?

Much like a confetti cannon's explosion, the flowers of the Confetti™ Panicle Hydrangea explode onto the scene in early spring! As a panicle hydrangea, the huge, 12'' blooms on this party-inducing shrub form a triangular-shaped blossom. These flowers begin as a pure white color on a contrastingly deep red stem before transitioning into a charming pink that lasts well into the fall season. These inviting flower spikes also give off a sweet, delicate scent for the pollinator-party-goers in your landscape! Don't be late to the party - plant the dazzling Confetti™ Panicle Hydrangea in your landscape today!

How to use Confetti™ Panicle Hydrangea in the landscape?

The Confetti™ Panicle Hydrangea acts as a wonderful privacy hedge during the summer months - the large and gorgeous, long-lasting blooms allow this plant to reach 5-6' tall in height! You could also plant as a foundation plant, in a cut flower garden or even as a specimen shrub to wow all who walk by!

Planting Zones

Hardiness Zone: 4-8

How To Plant Confetti™ Panicle Hydrangea

Panicle Hydrangeas are easy to care for. They love to be planted in moist well-drained soil in full sun but do appreciate some light shade in the afternoon in the southern end of their range (Zones 7 & 8). It doesn't mind heat and humidity, but it also withstands cold temperatures. It produces its flower on new wood, so don't do any pruning in late spring or summer.

How To Water

Water twice weekly for the first 3-5 weeks; then water weekly for the remainder of the year until winter. When you water, water very slowly and very thoroughly. The water needs to reach to the bottom of the root ball and that takes time. Watering needs may be altered due to extreme weather conditions.

How To Fertilize

Incorporate Elements Starter Plant food granular form into the soil when planting. If planting in spring or summer start fertilizing late fall using Elements Starter Plant food granular form on an annual basis each late year. Continue this for three years to get your plant well established.

How To Prune

Prune as needed in early spring. Shearing all the growth will increase your flower count but with smaller flower heads while selectively thinning out the branches will give you fewer but larger flowers. With its naturally compact habit pruning can be optional as well.
