This tree is low maintenance and requires hardly any pruning, but if you do trim it, you'll appreciate its soft, non-prickly foliage you'll just want to reach out and hug! Along with its fresh Cedar scent, this one's an all-around people pleaser!
Arborvitae means "Tree of Life"; the Vitamin C in the needles of the Eastern species saved early explorers from succumbing to scurvy (we'll stick to orange juice). This variety of Arborvitae was discovered on a nursery in Franktown, VA in 2004 as a naturally occurring branch mutation on Green Giant Arborvitae that was growing there. Once they realized what they had on their hands, they moved quickly to introduce the Green Giant's baby brother to the nursery world as the Junior Giant Arborvitae!
How to use Junior Giant Arborvitae Hedge Bundle in the landscape?
Junior Giant Arborvitae are the perfect medium fit for limited space gardens. A Lot like the Green Giant, but without the extra large size, this evergreen is great for use as a privacy screening or windbreak since it is so strong and upright! This plant is one handsome evergreen that is fast growing and hardy!

How To Plant Junior Giant Arborvitae Hedge Bundle
Arborvitaes are fast growing and the different varieties give you many reasons to add a few to your landscape. The Junior Giant variety prefers full sun, but can tolerate light shade as well. Arborvitaes prefer moist soil as long as it is well-drained, meaning it's not consistently wet. Pests don't seem to be of any concern for Arborvitaes.
How To Water
They require keeping the soil moist (not too wet) after initial planting and be sure to water consistently for the first growing season. Once established, they are more tolerant of drought conditions, reducing your hand-watering responsibilities.
How To Fertilize
Incorporate Elements Starter Plant Food granular form into the soil when planting. If planting in spring or summer, start fertilizing late fall using Elements Starter Plant Food granular form on an annual basis each late fall. If planting in the fall, use Elements fertilizer while planting and start your regular annual fertilizing the following fall. Continue this for the first three years to get your plant well established as it gives your tree the nutrients it needs to produce lush new growth for the following spring.
How To Prune
Pruning the Junior Giant is not required unless you'd like to shape your Arborvitae. If that's the case, then pruning should be done yearly in late spring.

The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health.. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)
Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.
All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!

I received 12 Junior Giant Arborvitaes from Bower and Branch top of April 2023. They were delivered on a box truck by a very friendly, affable driver who brought each bush to the area of my property I wanted them to be set until planting. They were the size I paid for and in excellent health/condition. They were planted within 4 days of receiving them which was 6 weeks ago as of this writing and they are thriving.
