How To Plant Howardi Golden Japanese Privet
Growing to its full potential in full sun, the Howardi is capable of handling some shade without issue. This plant offers adaptability when considering soil, allowing it to survive in most soil types while avoiding standing water, which may damage the roots.
How To Water
Watering should be done at least once a week, especially when first planted, to ensure a healthy growth habit and root system. Once established, although drought tolerant, it is always beneficial to do some mild watering to any plant. We recommend watching your local weather during hotter dry months and water accordingly.
How To Fertilize
The Howardi Golden Privet, like most plants, do enjoy a healthy feeding of fertilizer! We recommend doing so in either early spring or late fall, when you notice no new growth coming forth. We offer our Elements Starter Plant Food to meet all your fertilizer needs!
How To Prune
Howardi Golden Privet is capable of enduring a pruning throughout the year, but we recommend doing so in late winter to early spring, before the push of new growth as to not hinder its growing ability for that upcoming season.
