Why Plant Angelina Creeping Stonecrop?

Grab your sunglasses! Angelina Stonecrop, or Sedum, is an outrageously bright Spirit that will bring energy and cheer to your landscape. This lush, succulent ground-cover features conifer-like “needles” that are soft to the touch and dazzling yellow in color. If you’re familiar with Blue Spruce Sedum, this is the eye-popping golden yellow version. When there’s a chill in the air and the leaves are beginning to fall, Angelina clamors for even more attention, taking on highlights of orange and rosy red. It holds onto its fiery leaves all winter, too, if temperatures don’t drop too low.

There are hundreds of species of Sedums to be found all around the globe in a wonderful array of colors and forms. There are ground-huggers and upright growers, plants with blue, green, gold, gray, red, or purple foliage, and plants with yellow, pink, or white flowers. This species, the Reflexed Stonecrop, is native to Europe and usually sports blue-green foliage. This fluorescent model was discovered by an Austrian nurseryman named Christian Kress. He saw it in a private garden while on vacation in Croatia, and he named it Angelina, after the garden’s owner.

How to use Angelina Creeping Stonecrop in the landscape?

You may not notice Angelina Stonecrop’s sunny yellow early summer flowers, because they exactly match the color of its foliage. Butterflies and all kinds of grateful pollinators will zero in on them, though. Honeybees and many native bees will get valuable sustenance from the nectar- and pollen-rich blooms.

How To Plant Angelina Creeping Stonecrop

Angelina Sedum is sinfully easy to grow. Plant it in full sun for the richest color—the foliage will turn chartreuse or greenish in shade. Well-drained soil is a must, and only occasional water is necessary in the summer. Cut the flowering stems back after blooming if you find the spent blooms distracting. This will also help the plant put energy into new foliage instead of seed production. Don’t plant anything delicate nearby, as Angelina is a robust grower and will smother smaller, slower growing plants in its path. Clumps are easy to pull up if they stray too far.

How To Water

Water as soon as they arrive! Sedum plants need to be watered regularly to maintain evenly moist soil for proper establishment in the landscape.

How To Fertilize

Fertilizing the Angelina Creeping Stonecrop is not necessary, but if you wish to give your plant that extra little boost we recommend using our Elements Starter Plant Food in the spring time!

How To Prune

Pruning these little guys is no hassle! You can decided whether you prefer to prune or not based on if you like the height of these flowers. For normal upkeep, it is recommended to remove any dead or diseased stalks, this can be done anytime throughout the year.

Shipping Delays:

From time to time, Bower & Branch Growers may determine to delay order shipment based on various factors for plant health. Weather in your region, as well as, where your plants are grown, is always considered when shipping. Extreme weather conditions may delay some or all of your order. Bower & Branch allows our Growers to make final shipping decisions based solely to benefit your trees and plants’ health and success.

How Does Sizing Work?

The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)

Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.

All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
