Goldrush® is a "child" of the beloved Golden Delicious apple. One of the newer apple cultivars to be disease resistant, Goldrush® is the product of a joint agricultural program that incorporated agricultural experimentation stations in New York, Illinois, and Indiana. Goldrush® was introduced in 1993 and adopted by growers and homeowners alike.
How to use Goldrush® Apple Bare Root in the landscape?
Goldrush® is a dessert apple that you will not want to miss out on! The apples have a nice sweet-tangy-tart flavor that can be utilized in baking such as pies or crisps, or break out the juicing equipment to make fresh apple juice or hard cider. If you like to enjoy a sweeter apple, allow Goldrush® to age - these apples can be stored for up to 7 months!

How To Plant Goldrush® Apple Bare Root
The Goldrush® Apple Tree is not self-fertile, meaning that it will require another pollinator around like Red Fuji or Enterprise, or a Crabapple, like Prairie Fire or Louisa, nearby. Plant your tree in a sunny, open, well-drained site and water regularly. As far as Apple Trees go, Goldrush® is fairly easy to grow and reliably produces heavy crops, although it is somewhat susceptible to common Apple disease Cedar Apple rust, so Goldrush® should not be planted near any juniper trees. Diseases can be managed in a variety of ways.
How To Water
Watering once every 7-10 days should be suffice.
How To Fertilize
Apple trees should be fertilized in spring before June 1st. We recommend using our Elements Starter Plant Food.
How To Prune
You can prune an apple tree any time of the year, but late winter before spring is probably the best time.
