Choose Your Perfect Orchard Ready Plum Tree

Superior Hybrid Plum | A northern star with serious toughness. Superior Hybrid Plum is a Japanese and American hybrid, bred for cold hardiness and vigor in chilly climates. Fruit is medium to large, heart shaped, with bright red skin and juicy yellow flesh that is wonderfully sweet and perfect for fresh eating, preserves, or desserts. It ripens in mid to late summer and rewards you with heavy crops when paired with a compatible pollinator such as another hybrid or Japanese plum.
Ripens mid-late summer • Needs pollinator • Large fruit production

Italian Plum | Rich, old world sweetness in your backyard. Bears elongated, deep purple fruit with golden yellow flesh that turns velvety sweet when fully ripe. It is a classic choice for drying into prunes, baking, and jam, yet delicious right off the tree. This variety is very cold hardy, late blooming, and self fertile, which makes it a reliable anchor tree in a home orchard across a wide range of climates.
Ripens late season • Very sweet, rich flavor • Best fresh eating

Stanley European Plum | If you picture a classic prune plum, you are probably picturing Stanley. This European plum bears abundant deep purple fruit with sweet yellow flesh, ideal for drying, canning, and fresh eating. Trees are vigorous with a graceful, spreading or vase form and a heavy annual crop when planted in full sun. Stanley is self pollinating and cold hardy in many regions, which makes it a dependable producer year after year.
Ripens late season • Self-fertile • Classic sweet plum

Santa Rosa Japanese Plum | A beloved classic and one of the most famous Japanese plums. Santa Rosa covers itself in fragrant white blossoms in early spring, followed by large purplish red fruit with amber flesh blushed red. The flavor is sweet with a lively tang, incredible right from the tree and excellent for preserves. It is often grown as a stand alone tree because it is self fruitful, although a pollination partner can boost yields even more.
Ripens mid-late season • Fragrant white blossoms • Sweetly tart

Satsuma Japanese Plum | Deep red and dramatic from skin to flesh, Satsuma Japanese Plum is all about color and sweetness. Fruit is medium to large with solid dark red flesh, firm yet juicy, and intensely sweet, perfect for fresh eating, cooking, canning, and preserves. Trees are productive and hardy, and Satsuma pairs especially well with companions like Toka, Pipestone, or Superior for pollination and heavier crops.
Ripens mid-late season • Very rich sweet flavor • Perfect for fresh eating

Toka Japanese Plum | Meet the famous Toka, sometimes called the "Bubblegum Plum" for its uniquely candy like aroma and flavor. This Japanese and American hybrid bears medium sized reddish bronze fruit with aromatic yellow flesh that is incredibly sweet. Toka is extremely cold hardy, widely adapted, and prized as an outstanding pollinator for many other Japanese and hybrid plums, while also producing plenty of delicious fruit on its own.
Ripens mid-late season • self-fertile • Candy like aroma

Shipping Delays:

From time to time, Bower & Branch Growers may determine to delay order shipment based on various factors for plant health. Weather in your region, as well as, where your plants are grown, is always considered when shipping. Extreme weather conditions may delay some or all of your order. Bower & Branch allows our Growers to make final shipping decisions based solely to benefit your trees and plants’ health and success.

How Does Sizing Work?

The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)

Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.

All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
