Why plant Peach Sorbet® Blueberry?

A showstopper all year long! Bushel and Berry® Peach Sorbet® Blueberry's foliage is a stunning display of colors ranging from peach, pink, orange, and emerald green. Clusters of pearly bell-shaped flowers lead to an abundance of sugary sweet blueberries in mid-summer. Bushels of plump berries with a tropical flair, you'll think you landed in paradise right in your own garden. This self-fertile beauty isn't shy in the fall as the leaves change to a gorgeous deep purple. You won't be able to decide which you love more, how beautiful it looks in your landscape or how delicious the berries are!

Patented in 2013, Peach Sorbet Blueberry is a warm zone, gardener-friendly blueberry created at Fall Creek Farm & Nursery, Inc. A variety of Vaccinium corymbosum, David Brazelton and Adam Wagner bred blueberries for multiple generations before creating what they wanted, Peach Sorbet.

How to use Peach Sorbet® Blueberry in the landscape?

A four-season stunner, Peach Sorbet has a lot to offer in a blueberry bush. Peach Sorbet surrounds dainty white blooms with leaves in tones of peach/orange, pink, and deep green in spring. Once summer hits, the flowers transform into an abundance of berries. Peach Sorbet are not like any other blueberries, these berries are a tropical, sweet flavor that will have you feeling like your at the beach all summer long. Starting with dainty white flowers in spring, as summer turns to fall and winter, the leaves will remain on the bush and turn a deep eggplant purple, sure to bring some color to your winter garden!

How To Plant Peach Sorbet® Blueberry

Acid soil is key to growing Blueberries successfully. These peat-loving Accents require very low–pH conditions to thrive. If your soil isn’t naturally acidic, you may want to grow Peach Sorbet Blueberry in a large container or raised bed. Give it all-day sun if possible and use lots of organic matter—both as a soil amendment and mulch. Even though Peach Sorbet is self-pollinating, you may want to plant other blueberry varieties to increase your yearly berry yield.

How To Water

Water twice weekly for the first 3-5 weeks; then water weekly for the remainder of the year until winter. When you water, water very slowly and very thoroughly. The water needs to reach to the bottom of the root ball and that takes time. Watering needs may be altered due to extreme weather conditions.

How To Fertilize

Incorporate Elements Starter Plant Food granular form into the soil when planting. If planting in spring or summer, start fertilizing late fall using Elements Starter Plant Food granular form on an annual basis each fall. Continue this for the first three years to get your plant well established.

How To Prune

As your Blueberry matures, you should thin your plant by about 1/3 by removing the older canes - this will allow new branches to fruit the following year.
