Why plant Pink Diamond Hydrangea Tree Form?
Most trees bloom in spring, so you’ll really appreciate your Pink Diamond Hydrangea Tree when late summer rolls around and its floral fireworks are just beginning. This small but fast-growing ornamental tree offers up big “diamond”-shaped clusters of brilliant white flowers in summer that turn a soft pink in fall. Pink Diamond is a new-and-improved version of the beloved heirloom Pee Gee Hydrangea Tree, with stronger stems than the original to better hold up those beautiful blooms. These types of Hydrangeas make excellent focal points within any of the planting beds around your home, and a matching pair on either side of your door is a gracious way for you to say, “Welcome to my home!”
In 1952, Robert de Belder bought some land in Kalmthout, Belgium that had formerly been a vegetable farm and a nursery (when WWI struck, it had been abandoned). Robert had intentions of turning it back into a nursery. Well, if you have ever taken a long trip and returned home to a jungle, you know how fast weeds can grow. Imagine what happens after 30 years! During the renovations, he met and married Jelena Kovacic, and together they shared a lifetime of garden-making. They introduced many plants, including this one.
How to use Pink Diamond Hydrangea Tree Form in the landscape?
Diamonds are a girl's best friend! Okay, this might not be the kind of diamond the Mrs. is looking for, but it's pretty close! This fast growing Hydrangea develops pink buds that open to white broad conical blooms that quickly turn to bright pink. This particular plant is trained as a tree - a nice change of scenery for those late summer days.

How To Plant Pink Diamond Hydrangea Tree Form
Tree Form Hydrangea is a fast growing plant that we produce to become a small Tree for your landscape. It prefers a rich soil that maintains moisture but still drains well.
How To Water
Provide consistent water throughout the growing season.
How To Fertilize
Hydrangea Pink Diamond will benefit greatly from a spring and fall fertilizer program using Bower & Branch Fertilizer when applied accordingly. We recommend an early application each spring before bud break or at bud swelling and then repeated later in the season, preferably early Fall around Labor Day.
How To Prune
Pruning is the secret to having a great show of flowers each year. On the nursery we prune three times a season and then allow them to flower freely in July and August. Prune 1 is pre-spring: We do this while the Tree is still dormant and we prune back the overall Tree by about 50% and we remove older branches where needed. This is the most important prune and will keep your Hydrangea Tree well behaved and with a good strong structure to hold the weight of the large blooms to come. Prune 2 and 3: This is a simple shearing that again will keep the fast growing branches shorter in length until bloom. This first shearing is generally around Mother's Day and then we shear one more time around mid-June. This does delay flowering a bit but we prefer a strong tightly sheared Tree for flower support. These shears are preference only and are not required for success. After shearing, numerous flowers will appear and begin to expand - leading to a fantastic and extended flowering time from July through the Fall. Your first prune must be a hard prune for best results and have no fear - the Hydrangea Tree welcomes this prune and will respond well each year.

Please expect orders with multiple items to be delivered over a number of days as a result. Orders made up of numerous items or selections will not arrive at your home on the same day.
Shipping Delays:
From time to time, Bower & Branch Growers may determine to delay order shipment based on various factors for plant health. Weather in your region, as well as, where your plants are grown, is always considered when shipping. Extreme weather conditions may delay some or all of your order. Bower & Branch allows our Growers to make final shipping decisions based solely to benefit your trees and plants’ health and success.
How Does Sizing Work?
The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)
Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.
All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
