In early summer, we are delighted by the bright yellow blooms that remain a constant feature well into fall. The showy and cheerful blooms will bring bees, birds, butterflies to your landscape and are supported on tall stems of blue-gray foliage that offers a strong fragrance when bruised. By fall, the Rubber Rabbitbrush produces seed-like pods known as achene. These seeds provide quite the feast for birds to gear up for the winter season! In the past, Rubber Rabbitbrush was utilized by Native Americans within a wide range of applications. From chewing gum made from the bark, to tea, yellow dye, and surprisingly, cough syrup, they were able to determine multiple ways in which the Rabbitbrush was useful!
