Why Plant Adams Flowering Crabapple?
Brings birds and bees and oohs and ahhs! Adams Flowering Crabapple will please the pollinators with a profusion of blooms, it will satisfy the birds with a generous crop of juicy crabapples, and it will wow you with all of the above. Magenta-pink blossoms burst open in spring, and shiny red fruits follow in fall, persisting into the winter months. They are a favorite of cedar waxwings. Plant Adams Flowering Crabapple outside your picture window, so you can watch the activity while you relax indoors. Just about any sunny spot will do - it's very adaptable and easy to grow.
There are hundreds of varieties of Crabapple Trees available, but most of the older selections have fallen by the wayside, replaced by newer trees with superior ornamental qualities and greater disease resistance. Only the very best of the older selections are still grown today, and Adams is one of these -- a classic beauty with a clean bill of health. It was discovered at Adams Nursery in Westfield, Massachusetts in 1947. For over 70 years, it has been a popular ornamental tree in this country, performing admirably in northern states, where winter lows drop to -30ºF, as well as in hot and humid southern gardens.
How to use Adams Flowering Crabapple in the landscape?
You can harvest Adams' profusion of fruits to make a tasty crabapple jelly if you're into canning. Adams also serves as a suitable pollinator for most Apple Trees you may have that are in need of a partner to ensure good fruit set.

How Does Sizing Work?
The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)
Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.
All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
