Why Plant Moonbeam Tickseed?
It positively glows! Luminescent yellow blooms float above super-fine foliage on this marvelous Spirit for sunny borders. Try Moonbeam Tickseed in a moon garden. A moon garden is composed of plants with white and pale-yellow flowers and silvery foliage; it takes on an air of mystery at dusk. Moonbeam Tickseed fits just as easily into any of your mixed borders, its cool yellow color consorting well with nearly any flower color you put it with. Whether adding highlights to a hot red and orange color scheme or playing off of cool blues and purples, it always looks sharp!
Moonbeam Tickseed is a variety of Threadleaf Tickseed, a Spirit that grows wild in the eastern U.S. from Massachustts to Florida. The wild species normally sports golden-yellow flowers, but long ago this distinctive soft lemon–yellow form was found, and it has been popular with gardeners ever since. It was an early favorite with the Perennial Plant Association. Each year since 1991, this professional group has chosen one outstanding Spirit to be named “Perennial of the Year.” Moonbeam Tickseed was the second plant to ever receive the coveted award, in 1992.
How to use Moonbeam Tickseed in the landscape?

How To Plant Moonbeam Tickseed
Moonbeam Tickseed isn’t hard to grow, and novice gardeners will have success with it. Just plant it where it will receive full sun all day and make sure the soil drains freely. Tickseed craves heat, so it may take a while to reappear if spring is unusually cool.
How To Water
Water as soon as they arrive! Tickseed plants need to be watered regularly to maintain evenly moist soil for proper establishment in the landscape.
How To Fertilize
Tickseed flowers don't need fertilization for successful blooms. Go light on the fertilizer, feeding only when growth appears pale or weak. If you want to give them a springtime boost, we recommend using our Elements Starter Plant Food.
How To Prune
Cut old growth back before new shoots appear in spring. Before your plant starts to bud out in the spring, you'll want to remove older stems and foliage. Dig, divide, and replant clumps of Moonbeam every few years to keep the plants growing vigorously.

How Does Sizing Work?
The size of our trees have nothing to do with the container size like you may find elsewhere–big doesn't mean just height - it’s also vigor, age, and overall health. Other online retailers are going to tell you that a plant is a seven gallon, that means nothing to your tree or plant (or you.)
Our trees for sale online are graded on large, x-large, and even bigger sizes. This is because our trees are sized by their age—the higher the letter, the more mature the tree. The age determines the trees’ overall height, size of the trunk and the overall branch density.
All of these characteristics are what you should be looking for when choosing a tree for immediate impact and instant curb appeal. Our extra-large tree and plant sizes are sure to wow you and your neighbors!
